Parenting Hub
At Chichester Baptist Church we love family. And want to support one another in our family lives. We know that being a parent is a blessing and also a big responsibility, which comes with its own set of challenges.
We are blessed to have a very experienced and knowledgeable member called Pam Herrington who offers a safe space to listen, chat and provide tools to help us have the best relationships possible with our children.
'Feel free to book a private chat with Pam Herrington. This can be for several sessions or as a one-off. The most popular topics discussed are:
Looking under our child's or teen's behaviour - and then coming up with a response.
How different parenting styles impact a child's behaviour - and which is preferable.
Anger management (for all ages!)
On attachment and trauma.
Power struggles - how to respond rather than react.
Know and speak your child's love language - see how that can impact behaviour.
Emotional regulation ideas.
Social media/mobiles...
The powerful tool of 'active listening' - step by step on how to.
The teenage brain.
Consequences and boundaries.
Pam is part of CBC and is an ex-specialist family worker for 0-18 year olds for WSCC. She has also spent several years as a secondary school teacher.
"Sometimes we can feel very alone or just stuck when parenting. This is an informal chat over a cup of coffee or tea. It will be totally unjudgmental - I have heard it all! I've worked in this field professionally for many years as well as collecting a few off-spring myself! What I am passionate about is being able to give parents a toolbox of strategies which gradually brings empowerment. If you would like to have an informal chat just fill out the form and I’ll be in touch. Thank you!"
