Open the Book

Bible Society’s Open the Book is an exciting storytelling project bringing the Bible to life for primary school children in a fun, interactive, and memorable way.

Here at Chichester Baptist Church, a team of around 20 volunteers regularly visits 9 local schools across the Chichester area, sharing short 10–15 minute scripted Bible stories in school assemblies. Children are actively involved throughout, helping to make each story engaging and memorable.

Open the Book is all about opening the Bible in schools—reaching children who may not otherwise hear these powerful, life-giving stories. You don’t need any special experience—just a heart to share God’s Word with the next generation.

Our sessions vary from term to term, but always focus on bringing Bible stories to life in a creative and accessible way.

If you’d like to find out more about joining the team, or if you have connections with a local primary school that might welcome Open the Book, we’d love to hear from you.
