Creation Care

“God took the Man and set him down in the Garden of Eden to work the ground and keep it in order”‍ ‍

‍ ‍ - Genesis 2:15‍ ‍

Caring for creation is part of God's calling for each of us. The beauty of the world around us is a gift from God, entrusted to our care, and every one of us has a role to play in looking after it.

Our world is facing significant environmental challenges, and often it is the poorest and most vulnerable who are affected the most. At Chichester Baptist Church, we believe that even small actions, taken together, can make a real difference. Whether you're just beginning to think about creation care or have been passionate about it for years, we'd love you to be part of the journey.

What is the church doing?

Our Creation Care Group exists to help our church family care for God's creation in practical, achievable ways. We certainly don't have all the answers, but we're learning together as we seek to follow Jesus more faithfully in this important area of discipleship.

Together we aim to:

  • Pray for God's creation, for those most affected by environmental challenges, and for wisdom in how we care for both people and the planet.

  • Encourage sustainable habits within our church and everyday lives.

  • Take practical, manageable steps that make a positive difference.

  • Reduce the environmental impact of our church buildings and activities.

  • Organise and support events and initiatives that help us learn, act and inspire others.

We'd love you to join us

Creation care isn't about being perfect—it's about taking faithful steps together.

Whether that's making one small change at home, praying for our world, joining a local project, or becoming part of the Creation Care team, your contribution matters.

If you'd like to know more, ask a question, or get involved, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
